IMPORTANT NOTE: Windows machines are preferred since some software (statistical and modeling software) only runs on Windows. Mac is acceptable. Majority of A&S students are running some version of Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat, OpenSUSE, CentOS) beside their Windows or Mac OS install on their laptops. A&S students typically use Dual Boot or Virtual Box. Chemistry Majors: Windows machines are preferred. Physics & Astronomy Majors: Windows machines are preferred w/ 8GB RAM, but MacBook Pro System A thru I are acceptable.
